2010

Woke up today thinking, "What a year it was!" We managed to move, survived a few disappointments, miss some friends and family who have passed on, and our hearts are still beating. Overall, we made progress and that was more evident when we stopped at our old place and spent a night next door at Sweetie's mom's vacant house. That night I was reminded of how we struggled to stay the course and believe that our goals would eventually be met; of how we didn't let any naysayer discourage us; of how we just persevered.

And so, in 2010, we'll do the same.

The fedgov can create more debt; the congress critters can pass more laws; prices can increase or decrease; wars will continue to be waged; the elite will suck the lifeblood out of anything they view as profitable; and the masses can continue to stick their heads in the sand. What matters is what we're committed to; what we're willing to do to survive. We're certain of our path, persistent in our pursuit of it and happy with the choice. That, my friends, leaves us in better shape than most people.

Time to curl up on the sofa and bask in fruits of our labors. Happy New Year, Treesong

P.S. Emmie J Driskell left a comment with a bunch of squares with an occassional group of letters. Hmmmm...

I've been getting those comments daily, always on the same post. So has Hermit Jim, I've noticed. Not from the person you listed, but from "???????". That's how the commenter's name shows up.

Anyways, great plan Tree. It's a plan that everyone should follow. I know I am...

I think sometimes just having a path helps. Seems lots of folks just driftin about not knowing where they are headed.Sorry to hear of your loss, Hopefully this will be a great year for you!

Treesong...I wish you and Sweetie a Happy and Prosperous New Year! Ours did not start out so well either, we have lost many family and friends this year, with the last one on Christmas Eve...how sad to finish the year.

I hope that 2010 finds us all with exactly what we need to survive this crazy world.

Have to laugh, Treesong--I always misspell the same word, always put 2
'esses' in there. Love your blog and you 2 are really something to admire!

You are doing great and have the right attitude. Just keep plugging away and you'll be as set as anyone. You've got a plan and are making it work.

I for one am glad to be done with 2009. It was a year of personal loss for us too. Not as bad as your's I guess, but it's all in the past. Gotta keep looking forward.

Stay the path. You are doing fine. Your move was the right thing to do. Being prepared is being smart. Well done. 2010 has arrived as will 2011.

See Ya

I love the saying from the movie Outlaw Josie Wales...where the old Indian is telling Josie about meeting the big wigs in Washington.

They told us "endeavor to persevere...!"

Guess that's all we can do ...endeavor to persevere!

Hang in there, my friend!

Hi there,
Nothing is by accident I always say. I found your blog by googling that Emmie Driskell who left a comment on my blog. In my search, I saw where you had posted about that person. I'm glad that I found your blog. I am so sorry about your loss. I hope that 2010 is a prosperous year for you and for all of us. Seems like we're all just keeping one foot in front of the other in these hard times. Then, too, we have losses of family and friends. Keep the faith. It will get better.
Blessings,
Marilyn
