I'm Fuming Mad!

We just received our statement from Chase Bank as well as a Notice of Change in Terms. Those &%#&%&XXX have increased out interest rate from 8.99% to 15.24% effective July 2009.

We pay off the balance EVERY MONTH!!!! Sometimes the balance is over $300; once it was over $700 and we paid it off. Some months we've paid the account twice because we knew that later on we'd charge enough to bring us close to our account limit which is $2,000.

So I guess those morons at Chase decided they weren't making any money on us so they'd rather discourage our business or see us decide to close the account. Never mind that we are now approaching the time when we will NOT be paying off our balance every month due to our move, etc.

I'm livid. Steam is coming out of my ears and fire out of my mouth.

This is just another good reason to STOP using all credit and operate entirely on a cash basis. Screw them!

It's not just you. We got the same notice. Slightly different rates but still a 4% increase. We have no balance on there but still. Just another indicator of the problems this country is heading toward.

Can the credit cards! I did 4 years ago, and I never looked back. Don't miss 'em, don't need 'em. Cash is king!

We plan on canning the card in August but now we'll have a higher balance due to the increased interest. If our place here in Lower Michigan would sell this month then we could pay it off now. I am so pissed!

Yowch. And after all these banks got handouts of our tax money. They're shooting themselves in the foot. I've heard of many people getting these letters - including people I know. I don't know what these companies are thinking...

Is it too close to your transition to U.P. life to apply for a new card from another company? Maybe one with a low introductory rate? (well, if that even exists anymore...)

Just curious - if you pay your card off every month, what difference does it make?

I am pissed because for the first time in a long time we're NOT paying the balance off this month and possibly next month because of all the expense of moving. In addition, we currently have double utility bills, homeowners insurance and another vehicle repair bill. So this interest rate hike really bites.

One way or another we'll get through it but the jerks will never get our business again.

They just seem to be attacking from all sides...a little more each day!

Don't blame you for being mad!
