If you've read this blog for any length of time you know the headaches our neighbors have been.
Now, if all goes well, we will sell 3 acres to our neighbor to the north. He's a like-minded individual who has already bought 24 metal No Trespassing signs and attached them to plywood. When he's here next weekend he intends to post the southern boundary - that area around Jack A-- who's decorated the fence once again with dozens of deer antlers, & Harley and Budweiser banners. As if that's not enough he's attached an old fuel can to the western corner post & uses it for target practice. When we were offered $2,000 an acre for the land we decided why not let the land be someone elses problem?
We still retain nine acres and once the transaction's complete we'll have paid our mortgage down by $6,000 too. We couldn't be happier.
Then, Sweetie, who's waxing nestolgic for Florida said, "I wonder if he'd like to buy the whole place."
Time will tell.

You Do Not want to come to Florida. Believe me I am trapped here. The humidity and pollen reeks havoc on your respiratory system even if you don't ordinarily have breathing problems.
Also it is really looking like little cuba everywhere. I live in Palm Bay (Near Melbourne, and about an hour drive from Orlando. It has changed ALOT in the last 5 years, let alone the last 20 years that I have lived here.

Wow, now there's something to ponder....what Cathy said. Maybe you should just go visit for a bit first.....maybe hubby would change his mind.......there are a-holes everywhere. B.

I agree and disagreee with Cathy about Florida. We've been back here for 7 years and LOVE it despite Hurricane Charley wreaking havoc in our area.
Housing prices are low because of foreclosures but many require major renovations because they have been stripped of AC, copper, appliances, doors, etc. Our house is in an area considered to be very desirable, typical 80x100 lot but we grow a lot on our lanai and in raised beds at the foundation. The growing season is about 10 1/2 months long.
Our neighbors are wonderful and accepting of what we do. And many also grow some of their food like citrus and pineapples!
Best idea if you are really considering moving anywhere is to try it out for 3-6 months. Read the local papers on line, check all resources on line but mainly decide what kind of lifestyle you want and what services need to be close by.
Very glad your situation is coming around - nothing better than making life easier.
