Self-Administered Tyranny

Found this on Coyoteprime's blog:

"The ideal tyranny is that which is ignorantly
self-administered by its victims.
The most perfect slaves are, therefore,
those which blissfully and unawarely enslave themselves."

-Dresden James

So what are some examples of "ignorantly self-administered" tyranny that come to your mind?

The tyranny of the time clock?

Of keeping up with the Jones?

Of giving the kids the best & thinking the best measured by money?

Of perfection? If it can't be done *right* then don't do it at all, then never starting anything.

Of someday.

Of forgetting we are not God & our best efforts won't change a thing.

Continuing to try to pay off unpayable debts that were incurred while still believing in "the system."

Bankers get bailouts, so we pay them twice: when we attempt to pay off the principle and interest, and again with our tax money.
Egads.
